Abstract: 

Three components of cysticerci of Taenia hydatigena viz. scolices, fluid and membrane were analysed for their BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION. Fluid of cysticerci contained significantly higher levels of Ca, K, Na, Chloride, P and CO2 as compared to membrane and scolices. The level of all these constituents was lowest in scolices except for Ca which was more in this component than in membrane. Glucose, Total Protein, BUN, Total Bilirubin, Bilirubin-D and Creatinin were also higher in fluid. However, Cholesterol, TG and Uric acid were more in membrane. The levels of ALP, LD-H and ALT enzymes were higher in fluid whereas AST and CK-H were more in membrane. Scolices also contained all these enzymes but in much less quantity.

Abstract: 

Seasonal changes in the BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION of Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus roe were analyzed from May 2016 to February 2017 in Korea. Spawning, occurring between April and May, was characterized by relatively low lipid (3.46 g/100 g) and protein levels (13.22 g/100 g). Concurrently, calcium level was increased, while magnesium level was decreased. The roe’s polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) content was high, constituting 40% of total fatty acids, with eicosapentaenoic acid (C20:5n-3) and eicosatrienoic acid (C20:3n-3) being the most predominant. During the spawning season, lower levels of ascorbic acid (30.9 mg/kg) and folic acid were observed alongside higher concentrations of riboflavin (7.24 mg/kg) and niacin (232.32 mg/kg). Vitamin E content was at its lowest in May, measuring 0.05 mg/100 g, compared to a range of 1.62–2.22 mg/100 g in other seasons. Overall, the results suggest that H. pulcherrimus roe is a valuable source of protein, minerals, vitamins, and glycine, an important flavor component. However, significant variations in its BIOCHEMICAL components were noted during the spawning period compared to other seasons.

Abstract: 

Hatchability of cysts and nutritional value of Artemia urmiana's nauplii in different incubation times were evaluated. The experiments were conducted at five incubation times 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 hours, in triplicate random groups. Hatchability of cysts during these periods was determined with standard methods.NaupIii were hatched in five litre bottles to determine their BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION. Dry weight, protein, lipid, carbohydrate, ash, caloric content and fatty acid COMPOSITIONs of naupliies were determined at different developmental stages. Also, the dry weight and the BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION of nauplii were determined individually, at different developmental stages.The results showed that the hatching percentage and efficiency increased with time with the hatching percentage being significant (P<0.05). The nutritional value of nauplii decreased slightly with time in most cases, but no significant changes were found (P>0.05). Based on the results, the incubation times 25 or 26 hours are recommended for harvesting nauplii. At these times, hatchability and the amount of harvested nauplii increased while their nutritional value was highest.

Abstract: 

THE OCTANOL-WATER PARTITION COEFFICIENT (KOW) IS A MEASURE OF THE EQUILIBRIUM CONCENTRATION OF A COMPOUND BETWEEN OCTANOL AND WATER THAT INDICATES THE POTENTIAL FOR PARTITIONING INTO SOIL ORGANIC MATTER (I.E., A HIGH KOWINDICATES A COMPOUND WHICH WILL PREFERENTIALLY PARTITION INTO SOIL ORGANIC MATTER RATHER THAN WATER).THE VOLATILE CONSTITUENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL OIL OF BALLOTANIGRAL.GROWING WILD IN KURDISTAN-IRAN WERE INVESTIGATED BY GC AND GC/MS TECHNIQUE. NINTEEN COMPOUNDS, REPRESENTING TOWLVE (98%) OF THE TOTAL OIL WERE IDENTIFIED. THE MAIN COMPONENTS WERE: M-CYMENE (6.05%), 1, 8- CINEOLE (3.44%), ALPHA-PHELLANDRENE (0.90%), LINALOOL (1.70%), MENTHONE (14.70%), 1-ISOPROPYL-4- METHYL-CYCLOHEXEN-3-ENOL (4.09%), 6-ISOPROPYL-2, 3-DIMETHYL-PHENOL (1.18%), THYMOL (64.23%), 1-METHYLNAPHTALEN (0.13%), 2, 3-DIETHYL-5, 6-DIMETHYLPYRAZINE (0.32%), EUGENOL (0.92%), CARVACRYL ACETATE (0.34%), MOST AND LEAST OF PERCENT WAS RELEVANT TO THYMOL AND 1-METHYL NAPHTHALENE RESPECTIVELY. THE PROPERTIES RELATIONSHIP WERE STUDIES FOR THE LOGARITHM OF CALCULATED OCTANOL-WATER PARTITIONING COEFFICIENTS (LOGKOW) AND THE LETHAL DOSE CONCENTRATION (LC50) IN THE VOLATILE CONSTITUENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL OIL OF BALLOTANIGRA L. GROWING. THE INTERESTING RESULTS OF CONCERNING AMONG LOGKOW AND LC50 FOR THESE COMPOUNDS ARE PRESENTED.
